CARTOON REVIEW: INFINITY OF NEW EKONOMY POLICY

This cartoon was published in Public News on 27/07/1987 depicted New Economy Policy was started in 1970 with the objective to restructure the society and norrow the poverty gap between racial which was proposed just after the tregedy 513. Unfortunately, it was extended its period again and again, its initial 15 years period was extended to another 20 years, it seems like there is no ending period . Until and unless the report on the 513 incident was disclosed, poverty gap between racial may not be necessary  the cause of the incident. This could be due to the rivalry party that was defeated in the general election, out of jealousy and worry,  triggered the havoc.Up to date, because of the New Economy Policy, certain quarters who has political power became richer and richer to the extend the gap of poverty within the racial increased.

Kartun ini dipaparkan di Berita Awam pada 27/07/1987 menonjolkan Polisi Ekonomi Baru dimulakan pada 1970 dengan objektifnya untuk menyusun semula masyarakat dan mengurankan jurang perbezaan kemiskinan di antara kaum di mana ia dicadangkan sejurus selepas trajedi 513. Malangnya, ia dilanjutkan jangkamasanya lagi dan lagi,jangkamasa 15 tahun pada mulanya dilanjutkan ke 20 tahun untuk kali yang lain, seumpama tiada tempoh tamatnya. Sehingga dan kecuali lapuran peristiwa 513 dibongkar, jurang perbezaan kemiskinan antara kaum barangkali bukan punca peristiwa. Ini mungkin kerana pihak lawannya yang ditewas di dalam pilihanraya umum, atas sebab cemburu dan bimbang, mencetuskan kekacauan.  Sehingga hari ini, oleh kerana Polisi Ekonomi Baru inilah, segelintir yang mempunyai kuasa politik bertambah kaya dan lagi kaya sehingga jurang perbezaan kemiskinan di dalam kaum bertambah.
